ACPB held a handover ceremony for the Board of ACPB & Dr. Zhian Xu was appointed Chairman
The Seventh ACPB Board of Directors Successfully Handed Over to the Classes, and Dr. Xu Zhian was Honored as Chairman of the Eighth Board of Directors.
On March 25, 2018, the handover ceremony for the 7th and the 8th Council of the ACPB Association of Chinese Professionals was held at the registered address of the Association of New Leuven, Belgium. He Weidong, Shao Ming, Huang Weihua, Sun Zhibin, Xu Kaidong, Peng Youbin, Ma Zhe, Xu Zhi’an, Zhang Weihong, Wang Zhongbin, Huang Wei, Yuan Wei and other members of the two new and old councils were all present at the handover meeting. Lin Dayue, an advisor, witnessed the meeting and everyone gathered together. In a relaxed and happy atmosphere, the seventh ACPB board of directors came to an end successfully and smoothly. The eighth board of directors, chaired by Dr. Xu Zhian, set sail with confidence and started operations!
The handover ceremony on that day was chaired by Shao Ming, secretary general of the seventh session of the council. She briefly recalled the differences between the previous election of the 2018 Council and the previous ones. First, the candidates for the pre-election self-reported electioneering positions, and the chairman of the ballot was established. With reference to the options, the four chairperson candidates presented a systematic future policy agenda. The chairman was elected by the new council collectively. The process of the new council’s selection of the chairman is the process by which the council reaches a consensus on the nature of the association and the concept of governance. The division of labor is also a matter of repeated communication, discussion, negotiation, and understanding and agreement. These valuable experiences will surely have a good guiding effect on the future development of ACPB.
Dr. He Weidong, Chairman of the 7th Board of Directors, spoke. He affirmed the new ideas and new enlightenment brought by the election of the 8th Council and the way the Chairman was elected by the Council. He sincerely thanked the 7th Board of Directors. The Directors paid for the work of the Association over the past two years and expressed their gratitude and thanks to the families for their unfailing support and assistance! The 7th Council, under the leadership of Dr. He Weidong, signed technical and talent cooperation with several domestic organizations in science and technology ( (Framework) Agreement, the establishment of an overseas talents workstation, the hosting of the China (Changchun) Overseas Talent Innovation and Entrepreneurship Project Contest in the European Division Finals, and the organization of overseas outstanding scientific research talents to return to China for inspections, etc., and culturally organized a “China Roots-seeking Journey” overseas Chinese-American youth summer camp. The work was approved by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office and praised by the overseas Chinese community. In addition to the traditional Mid-Autumn Festival party, a groundbreaking Chinese Music Festival for the first Chinese musicians in Belgium (Brussels) was held. The ACPB took the lead of the Belgian Overseas Chinese Community Association. Successfully hosted the 2018 Chinese Spring Festival Parade with Ghent City Government Wishing the event to reflect the new image and new value of overseas Chinese and Chinese in a higher level and wider area.
After the handover ceremony of the next ACPB seal, Dr. Xu Zhi’an, the eighth president of the board of directors, officially took over. He said that he took the seal and felt heavy on his hands. The seventh council did a lot of groundbreaking new work and brought the ACPB to a very high level. He was very grateful to Dr. Weidong and the seventh members of the Council for their wholehearted and selfless dedication. Such dedication cannot be measured by money. He believes that unity and inheritance are ACPB’s fine traditions. The eighth council will focus on the purpose of the association’s regulations, carry out various tasks with pragmatic ideas, and take the road of scientific and technological priority and culture as the characteristics of professionalism in soft power. Fairness and justice as our working methods, improve the various provisions of the Association, and ensure the continuous and stable development of the Association from the institutional perspective; adhere to the members first, serve the members, and provide benefits for the members as our work goals, and make the Association’s work Fine, so that the association really become a member of the professional’s home.
Since its establishment in 2003, ACPB has gone through fifteen years of history. Regardless of science and technology or cultural exchanges, ACPB has done a great deal of success and has made great achievements. Our emboldenedness comes from the fact that all of us have a sense of quality and membership. Our confidence is derived from the fifteen-fold solid accumulation that has been inherited and promoted. “The tide is wide and the sea is sailing.” The 8th Council will open up a new world in inheritance, down-to-earth and intensive, and the ACPB “cooperation circle” for cooperation and exchange between China and Belgium will grow.
